No matter what I do my lawn looks rubbish. Despite a year of trying to fix it, its still a lump mess full of moss, weeds and the odd clump of grass! What am I doing wrong? I've tried chemicals, digging up the weeds, throwing down compost and seeds, but nothing seems to work. Do I have bad soil?

maybe not bad soil, but could be bad light?

By far the worst areas of our grass are near the conifers and at the front of the house. Both get the least amount of light. The dandelions and thistles seem to flourish and the majority of it is moss rather than grass as it gets very damp for 6 months of the year.

I have just applied weed and feed to mine and I have also bought a lawn repair kit. If that doesn't work I will have a look at getting some grass seed that grows better in poor light.

if that doesn't work then maybe I'll cover it with decking Smiley
