How much do carpet fitters tend to charge?  I've picked out the carpet I want for my 700sq ft flat, but I'm appalled by the fitting charge the shop has proposed... what do people think a reasonable price is?

we have only 1 price for fitting carpets, and that is £75 for a 'medium sized' room. How much were you quoted? I would go on the assumption that it takes 2 people at least 1/2 a day to fit a carpet.

yeah that figure is about what Carpet Right charge for an independent fitter to come round and fit the living room. Note they prefer CASH  Roll Eyes

What amazes me is that its typically one person. One guy fitted our living room carpet (24x12ft) plus underlay in a morning.

My first and last attempt at carpet laying was an ensuite bathroom. Didnt go well Smiley
