We purchased a new bovis home in December 2007 and have lived in a work in progress propert for the last four months.  Full story available at www.whybovishomes.co.uk

Has anyone had a bad experience with their new home.

the snagging process for new homes is a long and painful one with muliple leaks and build issues. for a while the site manager on our new housing estate spent more time at my house than I did. Hmm, that sounds suspicious now  Huh

do your research before your initial inspection to get a list of common issues so that they can be sorted BEFORE you move in. Easy said with hindsight though Cry

It is always convenient for the landlord to leave out details about things that need to be repaired because they never want to pay for it. It is ridiculous sometimes how bad of a condition a house is in when you move in! I have never had an experience with bad housing except for in apartments.  I moved into an apartment once where they did NOT have running water...well something was wrong with the tubes or something.  That was ridiculous. I finally got the landlord to finish it but it took about 3 months of hunting him down and saying that I would turn him in for trying to get rent for this place.  I don't think he knew much about laws so that scared him into looking into a solution  Smiley very odd situation.
