Today I have had to have a tooth taken out and I need to have a big filling put in a tooth and they said it will be a gold one.  They charged me £194!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is this right, seems a awful lot of money!!!

Sorry Jadhandon but that is exactly the right amount, The NHS dental service has 3 price bands and for something like a tooth extraction and filling you will fall under the top pricing bracket. Infact you got away slightly lightly as the charge has recently gone up to £198

Well done you, I think you struck lucky.  I just went to the dentist only to be told that I would have to have a root filling on my molar and this would entail two visitations each costing £300 each = £600 this does not include a crown.  I am actually trying to work out if I should go or not.  I questioned the price and was told that my dentist charges by the hour £220.00 and the I was being charged at a god rate for both appointments since I had been allocated 2 x an hour and half appointments.  WHAT DO YOU THINK?
I THINK YOUR GOLD TOOTH WAS WORTH IS WAITING GOLD he he ;  ) LOL

MAYBE YOU COULD SHARE THE NAME OF YOUR DENTIST WITH ME?
