Good evening and welcome to the forum Pam,

Unfortunately I would be very surprised if you could get dental implants with an NHS dentist. Privately they come in at about £1k each.

Are the missing teeth a cosmetic problem? Have they altered your chewing or bite? These might be extenuating circumstances which may help, but I doubt it. If it was your two front teeth then it would be more likely.

TBH I would suggest a top priority to try and get signed up with a dentist so they can check on your teeth as you haven't been for 8 years.

Has anyone else managed to get implants on the NHS dental scheme - hence paid (currently) £198 each for them?

Hi Hiho,

The two teeth that are missing are my bottom teeth not the middle ones but the ones next to the two middle main teeth if that makes any sense lol it hasn't altered my eating habits as such but its more of just having two gaps which is not very appealing when you try to smile!. However I have finally got some courage and booked an appointment with the dentist fingers crossed they can do something about it otherwise I don't think i can afford 1K for each tooth!

I'm not a dentist but I suppose a cheaper option may be either a bridge or some form of denture.

Anyway good luck with the trip to the dentists  Smiley

Turkey is very cheap for dentistry, and good quality so I've heard. Maybe you could try there and have a holiday in my favourite country at the same time.

You can't get implants done for £198 on the NHS, they are not available as a NHS treatment item. The only possibility is to ask a dentist to refer you to the Oral Surgery department of your local hospital. It is a very long shot, however, as they have many other demands on their time such as wisdom teeth removal and cancer care.
