I am seeking a skilled experienced gardener in the Bristol to maintain a large garden

Current rates in this area seem to be £10-15 per hour is this a fair price for grass cutting weeding etc ?

Seems pretty reasonable depending on what the tasks are. Factor into your thinking how much it would cost you to do the work.

Whilst I've never hired a gardener, I have had cleaners in. Try and set expectations upfront as to what will be done each week for the hours agreed on. Keep an eye on it as well. We ditched our cleaners as the first couple of weeks they did a good job which just got worse as time went on.

My other experience is a friend who hired a semi-retired gardener who would almost need shoving around the garden and pointing at weeds to do work, yet he only required £8 an hour - in Cambridge.

So seems like a reasonable rate for basic maintanance just agree before hand what needs to be done and at what cost and keep an eye on it.
