Could do with some help with how to go about home improvements

we own and pay a mortgage on the house we live in, and have a big problem with condensation and damp, both my husband and i are asthmatics, which is quite bad, my husband has just lost his job due the recession and im currently on Incapacity benefit waiting to here if i can claim disability living allowence, im not sure how to go about getting a grant for damp proofing and maybe double glazing, can anyone help, if so email me at katscarebear35_8@hotmail.com

This was interesting more so for the over the top charges they are saying it costs for boiler installs and hence even though poor people get grants of like up to £2700 for an install its still costs then >£500 as they charge British gas prices for these things.

It makes sense for the government to pay out money to help people save energy, but it looks as usual that some people, trades people, take the piss.

Damp and condensation is not down to bad insulation it is more to do with the house not breathing properly bad venterlation.

The common process in looking for some home improvement might be care about that, because it is important to know the fact for insulation. I think that the condensation and damp because the basement  dehumidifier is expensive to run and will not solve the problem if the damp is caused by condensation.
