I recently turned 16 and I got braces when I was 13.. I got two teeth taken out and I still had gaps when I got the braces taken off and my retainer put on.. I have a gap in my front teeth and were the two teeth got taken out but they won't let me get braces under the NHS because I have already had treatment.. but with the credit crunch taking effect, I can't find a suitable job for after school and weekends as employment is seriously low right now.. so how do they expect me to pay for braces which are seriously needed!?
I don't want to keep depending on my mum and nan because they already spend far too much on my stage school and I really don't want them to pay for my dental treatment. Any ideas/help? Should I go to my orthodentist explaining the situation? And would they do anything, or do they simply not want to hear it?! Arghhhh, HELP!!!!

So, are you saying that you've had braces but they haven't left you with the perfect smile? I think in that case its a cosmetic treatment and your dentist is right that it is isn't covered.

tbh I don't know what else you can do. You could plead with the orthodontist that its not corrected yet and could he/she have another look - but it does sound like its a cosmetic treatment and so would need to be done privately which will cost a serious amount of money.

Sorry  Sad
