Here's a good tip for keeping your money safe when on a long holiday. Open a second bank account and take that bank card with you. Whilst travelling around use the internet to move small amounts of cash from your main bank account into the one you have opened for the trip. That way if you lose your bank cards or have them stolen you only have a small amount of money that is exposed to some risk.
