We have a  2 bedroom 2 bathroom flat on the 4th floor in London E1 (outside congestion zone)
We are having a COMPLETE new Central Heating system installed. Valliant Ecosystem boiler, new large capacity Hot water boiler, all new pipes (plastic) including installation (only ) of 7 radiators.
The readiators are excluded in the price as we have ordered those ourselves.
Including removal of old equipment and pipes, we have been quoted £ 7.500 + VAT
I know London prices are higher than in other parts of the UK, but isn't this a bit high?  My contractor who hired the plumber syas it is normal prices.... Am I being taken for a ride?

I don't know about London prices but that seems VERY expensive.

A valiant ecomax system boiler can be had for about £700 plus you are supplying the radiators in a 2bed flat? Does it include new bathroom fittings (showers etc)? Is there anything special about the removal?

Its not perfect but have you tried our central heating calculator? http://www.whatprice.co.uk/tools/central-heating-costs.php (http://www.whatprice.co.uk/tools/central-heating-costs.php)

I could rip out (when I was a hired labourer for a plumber)  a 4 bed house in 6hrs on my own including enamel bath and all pipe work, plus cold tank etc. A days rate for a plumber is what about £300.

Why the contractor? Is this part of other building work on the flat?
